Direct Drive Frameless Motors

Permanent magnet three phase ring type, low profile, direct drive motors with large through hole.
Four types to choose from:

  • ULT Series easy to use general purpose motors from 45-165 mm diameters
  • UTH Series high output motors from 29-533 mm diameters
  • UTS Series slotless motors for the smoothest motion 29-240 mm diameters
  • UTO Series outside rotating motors for hub-centric applications 20-200mm diameters.

ULT Motors

As the original platform for Applimotion direct drive frameless motors, the ULT series offer a large through hole and low profile construction. These motors are a unique blend of good performance and price and cover many applications.

  • NdFeB Magnets – Special single ring magnetically skewed multi-pole magnets allow for concentric easy assembly

  • Sinusoidal Torque Curves – Less than 1% higher harmonic content for minimum torque ripple on sinusoidal drives
  • Single Slot wound Stators – Machine wound for more consistent performance and high reliability with no copper forming required
  • Optional Back Iron Rings - A standard set of iron rings are offered for each motor

UTH Motors

Geared to high output and high motor constant, the UTH motors combine some of the unique attributes of our ULT series, but add high performance magnets. Keeping with tradition, large through holes and low profile pancake construction allow them to fit into tight spots.

UTS Motors

For the ultimate in smooth operation when scanning or positioning, the UTS Series Slotless motors offer zero cogging and sinusoidal torque angle curves. Considered one of the best motor constructions for many years, Applimotion has leveraged already proven motor technology as the basis for this new family of direct drive motors. Once you have taken advantage of a slotless direct drive motor you won’t go back to traditional motors.

UTO Motors

Many hub-centric applications benefit from an outside rotating motor construction. The UTO series direct drive motors are designed to operate either direct drive low speed requirement or high speed spindle type applications.
